BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible [00000001] code: modprobe/2645

Hey all,

I'm running:
     knoppmyth R5A16
     debian:      2.6.11.9-chw-2
     lirc            0.7.1
     homemade reciever
     lirc_serial

I am getting the following errors in my kern.log and would like some advice

I've heard from several users that LIRC is not functional with 2.6.11
debian kernel.  All have had similar errors during modprobe.  No one
here has similar issues or any suggestive comments?
